Project Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent
- Responsible for managing all aspects of project on-site.
- Quality Control
- Representative of company to Owners and Architects
This person will be responsible for keeping the project on budget. Candidate
must have a knowledge of and experience with the equipment, technology, and methodology
of managing the construction of a golf course. Superintendents will train and
supervise subordinates, communicate with owners and architects, maintain the
necessary inventory of supplies and materials on-site, and all other aspects of
keeping a project running smoothly.
Foreman
Foremen are responsible for the direct supervision of a work crew. This person will
closely supervise and participate in the operations of the work crew to ensure
quality. This is an excellent entry level supervisory position and is suited well for
educated persons starting out in the industry. This person will have a basic understanding
of construction methods, a willingness to learn the business in a "hands-on" manner, and
a desire for advancement.
Shaper
Shapers are highly skilled, experienced operators with the ability to transform the
ground into the architect's vision. This person will have the imagination and artistry to
build a golf course from verbal and drawn instructions. Experience in this position is crucial
to the success of a project. Compensation for this position reflects skill and experience.
